• Mandates e-Visa Starting April 2025
Namibia has officially terminated its visa-free travel policy for citizens of 33 countries, including the United States, United Kingdom, and Canada.
The visa-free policy termination was announced by the Namibian Ministry of Home Affairs, Immigration, Safety and Security.
According to the statement issued by the ministry, citizens of the 33 countries will now be required to undergo a new e-visa requirement. Recall Pan-Atlantic Kompass had earlier reported that countries on the continents are beginning to make series of change to their visa policies as immigration measures in countries continue to impact global trade.
The Ministry said the decision targets countries that impose visa requirements on Namibian citizens.
Travellers from the affected nations must now apply for an e-Visa through Namibia’s newly launched online platform, which became operational on March 3, 2025, or opt for a visa-on-arrival.
The cost of a Namibian visa depends on the applicant’s nationality and age:

The visa is valid for 30 days with multiple entries allowed.
Cruise ship passengers must pay a N$300 (€16 / US$17) day-visit fee upon arrival at ports like Walvis Bay and Lüderitz.
Citizens from the following 33 nations must now apply for a visa before travelling to Namibia:

The Ministry also listed locations where travellers can obtain their visas on arrival.
For airport, travellers can obtain visas at Windhoek Hosea Kutako International Airport and Walvis Bay Airport.
For seaports, travellers can obtain their visas at Port of Lüderitz, Port of Walvis Bay
At border crossings, travellers can obtain their visas at Ariamsvlei (South Africa), Oshikango (Angola), Katima Mulilo (Zambia), Mohembo (Botswana), Trans-Kalahari (Botswana), Noordeewer (South Africa).
