Manchester United have reportedly reached an agreement with Nigerian international striker and goal poacher, Victor Osimhen on a five-year contract worth £250,000 per week, with Napoli set to receive an initial fee of around £51 million, according to reports in the Turkish media.
The deal, which will run until the summer of 2030, is expected to be finalised once Osimhen completes a medical and agrees personal terms in the coming days.
Victor Osimhen, 26, has been in scintillating form during his loan spell at Galatasaray this season, netting 30 goals and providing six assists in just 34 appearances. Across his senior career, the Nigerian international boasts an impressive record of 143 goals in 257 matches, underlining why United have pursued him aggressively as a solution to their scoring woes.
According to Turkish journalist Aygün Ozipek, the striker has negotiated a salary of approximately £12.8 million per year — equivalent to the reported £250,000 weekly wage — underscoring the club’s willingness to invest heavily in their attacking line. Another Istanbul-based reporter, Ahmet Konanc, confirmed the move succinctly on social media: “Osimhen signs with Manchester United.”
The transfer has also been picked up by leading UK sports outlets, with The Mirror reporting that negotiations have entered the final stages. The move is viewed as a strategic response to United’s underwhelming goal return this season, with Rasmus Højlund netting just eight times in 45 games.
Once the paperwork is completed, Osimhen will join a cohort of elite forwards at United and bring a blend of pace, power, and clinical finishing that has been missing. For the 26-year-old, the move represents a step up to one of football’s most storied clubs and an opportunity to compete for major honours at both domestic and European levels.
However, despite reports of Victor Osimhen joining United, football faithfuls are awaiting official announcement from the club to put this long-awaited transfer to rest.
