Nigerian striker Victor Osimhen’s Al-Hilal transfer deal is reportedly set to collapse.
This was reported by transfer expert Fabrizio Romano on June 5, 2025.
According to Fabrizio, the Nigerian striker’s prospective move to Saudi club Al-Hilal is set to collapse due to a failure to agree on personal terms.
This comes as reports emerged that Osimhen’s Al-Hilal transfer deal is reportedly worth €65 million fixed fee plus €5 million in add-ons to Napoli.
The Saudi club also reportedly offered Osimhen a staggering £34 million per year, nearly triple Galatasaray’s proposal.
However, Fabrizio reportedly said that the deal will be off the table in the coming days as Osimhen is yet to secure a tangible agreement with the Saudi Arabian club.
It was also gathered that Osimhen’s apparent reluctance to leave European football, where he can continue to compete at the highest level is part of the reasons for the possible breakdown in negotiations.
Following the imminent collapse of Osimhen’s Al-Hilal transfer, Turkish giants Galatasaray have emerged as strong contenders, offering Osimhen a €15 million per year deal to secure his signature.
Galatasaray is said to be offering Osimhen Champions League football as part of the €15 million per year deal, despite being lower than what Al-Hilal offered.
Osimhen, whose loan from Napoli to Galatasaray just ended, has continued to be a revelation, scoring an impressive 37 goals in 41 appearances during the 2024-2025 season.
His prolific form helped the Istanbul-based club clinch the Turkish Super Lig title by 11 points and lift the Turkish Cup.
Despite his success, Napoli are keen to offload the striker permanently, with a £63 million release clause in play.
Also, Manchester United, linked with the striker amid their search for a new centre-forward, could still swoop in.
However, reports suggest that United’s financial constraints, having already spent £62.5 million on Matheus Cunha, might necessitate player sales or swap deals involving talents like Rasmus Hojlund or Alejandro Garnacho.
