Iran has threatened to attack bases owned by the United States, United Kingdom, and France across the Middle East in the latest escalation of the ongoing Israel-Iran conflict.
Iran threatened to attack the bases of these countries if they assist Israel in the ongoing conflict.
According to Iranian media reports, this statement was issued by Iranian Defense Minister Aziz Nasirzadeh.
The development also follows intensified hostilities between Israel and Iran after nuclear attacks on Friday.
Recall that the ongoing Israel-Iran conflict has seen Israel launch an Operation Rising Lion, which targeted Iran’s nuclear program, including the Natanz enrichment facility, and killed key figures like Hossein Salami, commander of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC), along with several nuclear scientists.
Pan-Atlantic Kompass reports that Iran’s threats to attack Western bases came after U.S. President Donald Trump appeared to have pledged support for Israel’s defence.
Trump had urged Iran to negotiate a nuclear deal to halt the violence, warning that “it will only get worse” if Tehran continues its retaliation.
Also, France’s President Emmanuel Macron echoed a similar stance, confirming on Friday that France would aid Israel if Iran escalated.
Meanwhile, the British government has clarified that its forces have not been directly involved in any such support operations, with UK Prime Minister Keir Starmer highlighting the importance of restraint.
Pan-Atlantic Kompass reports also gathered that the U.S. has several military bases across the Middle East region.
According to reports, this includes a network of permanent and temporary facilities in no fewer than 19 locations.
There are eight fixed bases among these, located in Egypt, Jordan, Iraq, Kuwait, Saudi Arabia, Qatar, the United Arab Emirates, and Bahrain.
As of mid-2025, there are an estimated 40,000 to 50,000 American service personnel stationed across the region.
These troops are distributed between major hubs and forward-deployed positions that serve logistical, intelligence, naval, and aerial operational purposes.
It was also gathered that the UK operates several military installations across the Middle East. British forces are based at multiple locations, including Cyprus which is home to the Sovereign Base Areas of Akrotiri and Dhekelia, which are key staging grounds for RAF combat and support aircraft under Operation Shader. These bases also feature signal intelligence capabilities.
Bahrain serves as the location of the UK Naval Support Facility, serving as the Royal Navy’s primary Gulf support point, while Oman serves as the permanent joint support installation in Duqm, aiding maritime operations and training exercises, and it is also being developed as a key strategic anchor.
British forces also utilise the Al Udeid air base in Qatar, a central node for RAF regional command and control while RAF personnel operate from the Al Minhad air base in the United Arab Emirates.
