The United States President Donald Trump has again attacked the world’s richest man, Elon Musk in the latest U.S. spending bill row.

Trump, on Tuesday, July 1, 2025, slammed Musk, accusing him of thriving on government subsidies while criticizing the spending bill.

The U.S. President, who took to his Truth Social platform, suggested that Musk’s empire, Tesla, SpaceX, and Starlink, would have crumbled without federal subsidies, even hinting at sending the tech mogul “back to South Africa.”

“Elon may get more subsidies than any human being in history, by far, and without subsidies, Elon would probably have to close up shop and head back home to South Africa. No more Rocket launches, Satellites, or Electric Car Production, and our Country would save a FORTUNE.

“Perhaps we should have DOGE take a good, hard, look at this? BIG MONEY TO BE SAVED!!!,” Trump said in a post on Truth Social, referring to the federal Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE).

In response to Trump’s post, Musk, on his social media platform X, said “I am saying CUT IT ALL. Now.”

This comes after Musk reignited his criticism over the U.S. spending bill row with Trump. Musk had slammed the “Big Beautiful Bill,” a massive tax and spending package, for ballooning the national debt by $5 trillion.

Recall that on Monday, the world’s richest man vowed to unseat lawmakers who backed the spending bill.

He said lawmakers who had campaigned on cutting spending but backed the bill “should hang their heads in shame!”

“And they will lose their primary next year if it is the last thing I do on this Earth,” Musk added.

Musk called again for a new political party, saying the bill’s massive spending indicated “that we live in a one-party country – the PORKY PIG PARTY!!”
