President Donald Trump is under fire from his own MAGA supporters over the handling of the Epstein files allegations.
The Epstein files spark fresh controversy as many were expecting new information, but the US Justice Department recently said there’s nothing more to share. The announcement has since triggered widespread frustration.
Pan-Atlantic Kompass reports that Jeffrey Epstein was a wealthy American financier and convicted sex offender who was accused of running a sex trafficking ring involving underage girls and powerful public figures. He had close ties to celebrities, politicians, and royalty.
In 2019, Epstein was arrested on federal charges but died in jail under mysterious circumstances that sparked widespread conspiracy theories. His death was ruled a suicide, but many believe key facts are being hidden, especially regarding his alleged “client list” — now at the center of renewed controversy.
The Department of Justice and FBI confirmed there was no secret “client list,” and that Epstein died by suicide in jail in 2019. Yet many MAGA followers remain unconvinced, accusing authorities of orchestrating a cover-up.
Trump weighed in with a post on Truth Social that stirred even more controversy. He defended Attorney General Pam Bondi and wrote:“What’s going on with my ‘boys’ and, in some cases, ‘gals?’ They’re all going after Attorney General Pam Bondi, who is doing a FANTASTIC JOB! … LET PAM BONDI DO HER JOB — SHE’S GREAT! … Let’s not waste Time and Energy on Jeffrey Epstein, somebody that nobody cares about.”
He added a pointed critique of the Epstein files, claiming they were “created by Comey and Brennan” and other Democrats, saying:“They created the Epstein Files, just like they created the FAKE Hillary Clinton/Christopher Steele Dossier … If there was ANYTHING in there that could have hurt the MAGA Movement, why didn’t they use it?”
Privately, Trump also told Pam Bondi in the Oval Office: “Let Pam Bondi do her job … we don’t need to chase Epstein files all day.”
A recent internal memo from the DOJ/FBI confirmed there is “no incriminating client list,” and the investigation into Epstein’s death is concluded. However, the lingering disappointment over the Epstein files remains a sore point within the MAGA movement.
Despite bold words, Trump’s response triggered more replies than likes on Truth Social for the first time—signaling a rare protest from within his base as many supporters demanded action, not dismissals.
The fallout continues as some MAGA politicians, including House Speaker Mike Johnson, are still calling for full transparency and release of all Epstein files. Trump now faces mounting pressure to reconcile his base’s expectations with his administration’s stance.
