After months of stalemate, Turkish club Galatasaray have finally finalised Victor Osimhen’s transfer move on a permanent basis.
The deal was reported by transfer guru Fabrizio Romano on Sunday, July 20, 2025.
Fabrizio said the breakthrough on Osimhen’s transfer move came after Galatasaray agreed to a €70 million deal with the Italian club, Napoli.
The transfer expert also said that Galatasaray will pay €40m immediately to Napoli and will pay another €35m within one year, plus €5m in goal-based add-ons.
It was also reported that Napoli will have a 10% sell-on clause in case Galatasaray sells the Super Eagles striker in the future, and there is also a condition that Osimhen cannot be sold to an Italian club in the next two years.
Osimhen has already agreed a four-year deal with Galatasaray, in which he will reportedly earn €18m per year.
Pan-Atlantic Kompass reports that this seals Osimhen’s transfer which has been on since 2024.
Osimhen has been in the transfer market since 2024 but was unable to secure a permanent transfer.
He fell out with Napoli manager Antonio Conte and was excluded from the club’s plans despite his exploits for the Italian club.
Osimhen became the first African player to win the Serie A top scorer award (Capocannoniere) in the 2022/2023 season, scoring 26 goals, and also won the Serie A title with Napoli, their first in 33 years.
Following the development, Osimhen went on loan to Galatasaray last season. During the season, he scored a total of 37 goals in 41 appearances, including 26 in the Süper Lig, clinching both the league title and the Turkish Cup.
Since the opening of the 2025 transfer summer, Osimhen attracted interest from Premier League clubs like Chelsea, Arsenal, Manchester United, and Newcastle, as well as a €50m-per-year offer from Saudi Arabia’s Al-Hilal.
