The government of the United Kingdom has announced the introduction of the UK’s Temporary Shortage List (TSL), a new framework under the Skilled Worker visa system which has taken effect from July 22, 2025.

Pan-Atlantic Kompass reports that this list replaces the Immigration Salary List (ISL).

It was also gathered that UK’s temporary shortage list targets medium-skilled roles with the aim to fill shortages in key sectors while encouraging domestic workforce development.

This fresh list, published by UK Visas and Immigration, gives skilled workers from all over the world an opportunity to over 70+ medium-skilled careers in the UK.

The list includes jobs from various industries including IT operations technicians, data analyst, welding trades, financial technicians, fashion designers, and even choreographers.

This means any immigrants whose job falls under the updated list and meets the minimum salary threshold may now apply for a Skilled Worker visa.

Below is a list of new jobs and salaries (Standard Rate) as made available in UK’s temporary shortage list;

• Engineering Technicians – £42,500/year

• Database Administrators – £34,600/year
