Professional Wrestler Hulk Hogan Dies at 71

Professional wrestler Hulk Hogan, whose real name is Terry Bollea, passed away on Thursday, July 24, 2025, at the age of 71. 

It was gathered that the wrestler passed away after suffering a cardiac arrest at his home in Clearwater, Florida.

His demise has been confirmed by local authorities and World Wrestling Entertainment (WWE). 

“WWE is saddened to learn WWE Hall of Famer, Professional Wrestler Hulk Hogan has passed away.

“One of pop culture’s most recognizable figures, Hogan helped WWE achieve global recognition in the 1980s. WWE extends its condolences to Hogan’s family, friends, and fans,” WWE wrote on social media.

Vice President of the United States, JD Vance has also mourned the passing of Hulk Hogan. 

The Vice Presiden,t who took to his official X handl,e said: “Hulk Hogan was a great American icon. One of the first people I ever truly admired as a kid. The last time I saw him we promised we’d get beers together next time we saw each other. The next time will have to be on the other side, my friend! Rest in peace.”

Pan-Atlantic Kompass reports that Hogan’s rise to fame began in the late 1970s with the World Wrestling Federation (WWF, now WWE), but it was in the 1980s that he became a household name. 

His signature red-and-yellow gear, “Real American” entrance music, and catchphrase, “Whatcha gonna do when Hulkamania runs wild on you?” captivated audiences. 

Hogan headlined eight of the first nine WrestleMania events, including the iconic WrestleMania III in 1987, where he body-slammed André the Giant. 

Beyond wrestling, Hogan ventured into Hollywood, with roles in films like Rocky III (1982) as Thunderlips and Mr. Nanny (1993), as well as the reality TV series Hogan Knows Best in the mid-2000s.
