Sudan thrashed Nigeria’s Super Eagles B 4-0 at the ongoing CHAN 2024 tournament played at Amaan Stadium, Zanzibar, Tanzania, on August 12, 2025.
The defeat has eliminated Nigeria from the tournament with one game still to play.
Pan-Atlantic Kompass reports that the CHAN 2024 clash was critical for Nigeria, which needed a win after a 1-0 loss to Senegal in their Group D opener.
Sudan, however, seized control early, with an own goal scored by Ngenge setting the stage for a relentless attack. By the 62nd minute, Sudan had a 4-0 lead, capitalizing on Nigeria’s errors.
This victory, Sudan’s biggest in the tournament, strengthens their position in Group D with four points, while Nigeria languishes at the bottom with zero.
