As another Premier League season kicks off with Liverpool hosting Bournemouth on Friday, August 15, 2025, the Opta SuperComputer has unveiled its 2025/26 EPL predictions.

According to Opta SuperComputer’s predictions,  Liverpool is the frontrunner to retain their Premier League crown for the 2025/26 season.

The SuperComputer forecasted that Liverpool has a 28.5% chance of securing back-to-back titles for the first time in their history.

This comes after the Reds, led by Arne Slot, dominated with a commanding 10-point victory in the 2024/25 campaign.

Pan-Atlantic Kompass reports that following a stellar debut season under Arne Slot, Liverpool’s squad has been bolstered by signings like Florian Wirtz, Hugo Ekitike, and Jeremie Frimpong, enhancing their attacking and defensive depth.

Also, according to Opta SuperComputer 2025/26 EPL predictions, Arsenal, perennial runners-up in recent seasons, are predicted to finish second with a 24.3% chance of clinching their first title since 2004.

While adding Viktor Gyökeres strengthens their attack, the SuperComputer noted their chance creation (61.6 xG last season) must improve to overtake Liverpool.

Also, Manchester City is projected for third place with an 18.8% chance. This development could mean that Manchester City will face a second consecutive season without a title under Pep Guardiola, a rare occurrence since his arrival in 2016. Their bolstered squad, including Rayan Aït-Nouri and Rayan Cherki, aims to leverage Erling Haaland’s lethal finishing to close the gap.

The prediction also put Chelsea as a strong contender for a top-four finish with an 8.4% chance of winning the title and a 40.4% chance of securing a Champions League spot.

Fresh off their Club World Cup triumph, the Blues are expected to capitalize on their well-rounded squad.

Meanwhile, the Opta SuperComputer predicted that Manchester United could face another challenging season, with a projection of a 12th-place finish and just a 6.7% chance of a top-four spot, despite signings like Matheus Cunha and Benjamin Sesko.

Also, Tottenham, under new manager Thomas Frank, is tipped for 14th, signaling ongoing struggles for the North London club.

The SuperComputer also predicted a tough season for newly promoted Burnley, Leeds United, and Sunderland, all facing likely relegation. Sunderland has a 34.1% chance of finishing bottom, while Leeds and Burnley have 48% and 45.9% chances, respectively, of dropping to the Championship.
