Victor Boniface’s AC Milan loan deal has reportedly been stalled, casting a doubt on the Nigerian striker’s anticipated move to Serie A.
This comes after reports emerging on Saturday revealed that AC Milan is assessing the results of Boniface’s medical tests conducted on Friday to complete the loan move.
Transfer expert, Fabrizio Romano, said that medical checks conducted in Italy have reportedly raised serious concerns over Boniface’s knees.
He added that the medical team reportedly flagged potential issues with his physical condition, possibly related to a lingering injury or underlying health concern that wasn’t fully disclosed during preliminary assessments.
Fabrizio added that a verdict is expected to be agreed on Boniface’s AC Milan loan deal by Monday.
He said: “AC Milan made contact with Sporting for Conrad Harder again in the last 24 hours.
“Milan discussed deal conditions, Harder also attracts interest from England.
“Meanwhile, Boniface completed medical with AC Milan decision on knee verdict expected in 24h.”
Pan-Atlantic Kompass reports that this development comes amid Boniface’s injury history.
Recall that an adductor problem that sidelined him for several months during the 2023/24 season, causing him to miss matches and limiting his overall playing time to 22 Bundesliga appearances.
He has suffered two ACL injuries in his career, in the 2020/21 season when he was out for 358 days, and in the 2018/19 season when he was out for 179 days.
Upon joining Leverkusen in the summer of 2023 for a club-record fee, he showed his potential with a hat-trick on debut but was hampered by recurring fitness issues.
He also broke his arm in a car accident earlier in his career.
