The suspect in the Minneapolis Catholic school shooting has been identified as Robin Westman, a 22-year-old resident.
The shooting, which occurred at Annunciation Catholic School on August 27, 2025, during a morning Mass, left two children dead and 17 others injured.
According to the Police, Westman shot himself after committing the act and was found dead at the scene of the incident.
The Minneapolis Catholic school shooting was said to have occured around 8:30 a.m.
According to Minneapolis Police Chief Brian O’Hara, Westman who dressed in all black and armed with a rifle, shotgun, and handgun, fired dozens of rounds through the Annunciation Church, located at 509 W. 54th St., where students from preschool to eighth grade were attending a worship service to mark the start of the school year.
Reports emerging a few minutes ago also revealed that the suspect of the Catholic School shooting posted a message on YouTube before the incident.
Although the page has been shut down by authorities, the video has been trending online.
The videos showed Westman’s arsenal of guns, ammunition and what appears to be a handwritten four-page manifesto addressed to Westman’s family and friends.
The letter reads in part: “I don’t expect forgiveness … I do apologize for the effects my actions will have on your lives.
“I was corrupted by this world and have learned to hate what life is. I have wanted this for so long. I am not well. I am not right. I am a sad person, haunted by these thoughts that do not go away. I know this is wrong, but I can’t seem to stop myself. I am severely depressed and have been suicidal for years. Only recently have I lost all hope and decided to perform my final action against this world.”
Meanwhile, eyewitnesses have begun to narrate how the Catholic School Shooting incident occurred.
A 10-year-old who survived the shooting said it was his friend who “saved” him from bullets by lying on top of him.
The 10-year-old boy, identified as Weston Halsne, told the press that: “I was like two seats away from the stained glass window.
“My friend, Victor, saved me, though, because he lay on top of me, but he got hit.
“I think I got like gunpowder on my neck.”
In another development, United States President Donald Trump has signed a presidential proclamation honouring victims of the Catholic school shooting.
The president in the proclamation described the shooting as “senseless acts of violence.”
Trump also ordered that flags at the White House and across the U.S. be flown at half-mast.
Flags at US embassies, military bases, and ships will also be lowered.
