The United States Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) has released surveillance images of the alleged suspect responsible for the Charlie Kirk shooting.
The FBI, in a terse statement, said it released the photos of a person of interest in the Charlie Kirk shooting to seek public assistance to identify the said individual.
Pan-Atlantic Kompass reports that Kirk, a conservative activist, was shot at Utah Valley University on September 10, 2025.
The prominent Turning Point USA founder was killed during a rally in Orem, Utah, prompting a nationwide manhunt for the suspect, who remains at large.
A single gunshot struck Kirk in the neck, and he collapsed on stage, as captured in video footage.
The FBI’s Salt Lake City field office, in collaboration with the Utah Department of Public Safety, shared two images on September 11, 2025, showing the Charlie Kirk shooting person of interest wearing a long-sleeve black shirt with an American flag, a dark-colored hat, and sunglasses.
The suspect is believed to have fired from a rooftop about 200 yards away before fleeing into a nearby wooded area.
In the statement, the FBI urged anyone with information to come forward as the investigation intensifies.
“We are asking for the public’s help identifying this person of interest in connection with the fatal shooting of Charlie Kirk at Utah Valley University.
1-800-CALL-FBI,” the agency wrote on its X (formerly known as Twitter) account.
In an earlier press release, Thursday morning, the FBI updated the Kirk shooting, writing, “This shooting is still an active investigation. The Utah Department of Public Safety (DPS) and the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) are co-leading this incident in unison with the Utah County Attorney’s office, the Utah County Sheriff’s office, and the local police departments.
“We initially took in George Zinn as a suspect. He was later released and charged with obstruction by UVU police. A second suspect, Zachariah Qureshi, was taken into custody and released after interrogation with law enforcement.
“There are no current ties to the shooting with either of these individuals. There is an ongoing investigation and manhunt for the shooter. “
Pan-Atlantic Kompass reports that world leaders have been reacting to the Charlie Kirk shooting.
“This is a dark moment for America,” U.S. President Donald Trump said on a video posted to his Truth Social website hours after Kirk’s killing, hailing Kirk as a “martyr for truth.”
“My administration will find every one of those who contributed to this atrocity, and to other political violence, including the organizations that fund it and support it.”
“I am appalled by the murder of Charlie Kirk. There is no justification for political violence and every act of it threatens democracy,” Canadian Prime Minister Mark Carney said on X.
“We must all be free to debate openly and freely without fear — there can be no justification for political violence,” British Prime Minister Keir Starmer wrote on X.
“An atrocious murder, a deep wound for democracy and for those who believe in freedom. My condolences to his family, to his loved ones, and to the American conservative community,” Italian Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni said on X.
“Charlie Kirk was murdered for speaking truth and defending freedom. A lion-hearted friend of Israel, he fought the lies and stood tall for Judeo-Christian civilization,” wrote Israel’s Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu on X.
“I spoke to him only two weeks ago and invited him to Israel. Sadly, that visit will not take place.”
“Charlie Kirk’s death is the result of the international hate campaign waged by the progressive-liberal left,” Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orban said on X.
“This is what led to the attacks on (Slovak Prime Minister) Robert Fico, on (Czech former premier) Andrej Babis, and now on Charlie Kirk. We must stop the hatred! We must stop the hate-mongering left!”
