24 abducted Kebbi schoolgirls have regained their freedom today, Tuesday, November 25, 2025.

The 24 abducted Kebbi Schoolgirls were from Government Girls Secondary, Maga.

This was confirmed in a press statement issued by the Special Adviser to the President on Information and Strategy, Bayo Onanuga.

Onanuga said the girls regained their freedom on Tuesday.

Pan-Atlantic Kompass reports that the girls were abducted during an attack on their school on November 17, 2025.

The attack led to the killing of an official and the injury of a security guard.

The statement reads in part: “President Bola Tinubu has welcomed the release today of the 24 schoolgirls abducted by terrorists in Maga Kebbi last Monday.

“Terrorists struck at the school at dawn on November 17 and abducted the girls, moments after a military detachment left the premises.

“The Kebbi incident triggered some other copycat kidnappings in Eruku in Kwara State and Papiri in Niger State.

“All 38 kidnapped victims in Eruku were freed on Sunday. The same day, the Niger State chairman of the Christian Association of Nigeria said 50 of the missing students of the Catholic School in Niger have been found in their parents’ homes.

“President Tinubu applauded the security agents for all the efforts made to secure freedom for all the victims taken away by the terrorists.

“He tasked the security agents to make more efforts to rescue the remaining students still being held captive.

“ I am relieved that all the 24 girls have been accounted for. Now, we must put as a matter of urgency more boots on the ground in the vulnerable areas to avert further incidents of kidnapping. My government will offer all the assistance needed to achieve this,” President Tinubu said.

The freedom of the 24 abducted Kebbi schoolgirls comes after all 38 abducted Kwara Church worshippers regained their freedom after days in captivity.

Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq of Kwara State announced the release of all 38 worshippers abducted from the Christ Apostolic Church (CAC), Oke-Isegun, Eruku, in Ekiti Local Government Area.

The freedom of the 38 abducted Kwara church worshippers came after terrorists attacked their church during a mid-week prayer service.

Also, 50 students abducted in Niger State escaped from captivity.

The Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN) in Niger State confirmed that 50 Niger Catholic school students abducted from St. Mary’s Private Catholic Primary and Secondary Schools have escaped their captors and have been reunited with their families.
