The United Arab Emirates (UAE) has officially detailed the eligibility rules for its Blue Residency visa.

Under the newly established Blue Residency Visa, the UAE is offering a 10-year residency specifically designed for individuals who have made exceptional contributions to environmental protection, sustainability, and climate action.

This initiative aligns with the UAE’s “Year of Sustainability” and its long-term “Net Zero 2050” goals, positioning the nation as a global hub for green talent.

This Visa allows eligible applicants to live in the UAE for up to 10 years, with the option to renew it repeatedly. Authorities have also confirmed that visa holders can sponsor family members and domestic workers, making the scheme attractive for professionals planning a long-term stay.

Below is a guide to who can apply and what benefits the UAE Blue Residency Visa offers;

Validity and Renewal

The UAE Blue Residency Visa is issued for 10 years at a time and can be renewed multiple times, as long as the holder continues to meet the eligibility requirements. This makes it one of the longest residence permits currently available in the UAE.

Meanwhile, this visa type does not automatically grant immigrants work access. Blue Residency visa holders still need a separate work permit sponsored by an employer.
