A fresh update has emerged for Nigerian travellers as the United States Embassy in Nigeria has launched a U.S. Visa Navigator, a new digital tool designed to simplify the visa application process.
Pan-Atlantic Kompass reports that the U.S. Visa navigator is an AI-powered online assistant embedded in the websites of selected U.S. embassies and consulates.
It was gathered that it helps applicants to identify the correct visa category (e.g., B1/B2, F1, H1B, etc.).
Also, the U.S. visa navigator helps applicants get real-time, case-specific answers, receive step-by-step next actions, and avoid unnecessary delays and confusion.
Additionally, the new initiative cuts down waiting days (sometimes weeks) for a response to email queries as the U.S. Visa Navigator provides instant support and 24/7 services.
According to a spokesperson from the U.S. State Department: “The Visa Navigator is part of our global push to digitize consular services and make the visa journey more transparent and user-friendly. This is just the beginning.”
The spokesperson also explained that the tool is part of a broader modernization strategy to digitally transform consular services and reduce reliance on outdated communication channels.
The spokesperson also added that as of now, the U.S. Visa Navigator is live at several high-traffic U.S. diplomatic missions across the globe.
The countries are India, the Dominican Republic, the Netherlands, Malaysia, the United Arab Emirates, Hong Kong, Nigeria and Pakistan.
In Nigeria, travellers can enjoy the U.S. visa navigator at the U.S. Embassy in Abuja & Consulate General in Lagos State.
