The United States President Donald Trump has again issued a “serious warning” over allegations surrounding tech billionaire Elon Musk’s funding to Democrats over the “Big, Beautiful Bill” before the U.S. Senate.
Trump, who spoke to the press on Saturday, said he is aware that Musk is gathering funds to allegedly bribe Democratic lawmakers to stand against the bill in the U.S. Senate.
Trump stated: “If he does, he’ll have to pay the consequences for that. He’ll have to pay very serious consequences if he does that.”
While Trump spoke on the allegations surrounding Musk’s funding to Democrats, he failed to reveal the consequences the billionaire would face.
The U.S. President also dismissed the idea of mending ties with Musk following their recent public feud.
When asked if he hoped to repair the relationship, he replied, “No.”
Asked if he considered their relationship finished, Trump said, “I would assume so, yeah.”
He further accused Musk of being disrespectful to the office of the U.S. President.
“I think it’s a very bad thing, because he’s very disrespectful. You could not disrespect the office of the President,” he added.
Pan-Atlantic Kompass reports that the feud between the duo began when Musk, who recently stepped down from his advisory role in the White House, labeled the GOP’s “Big, Beautiful Bill” a “disgusting abomination” filled with excessive spending.
Musk, who reportedly spent over $250 million supporting Trump’s 2024 campaign, argued that the bill’s projected $2.4 trillion to $5 trillion addition to the national debt undermines the fiscal responsibility he championed as head of the Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE).
Trump, however, claimed Musk was fully aware of the bill’s details and only voiced objections after leaving his role.
Also, Trump threatened to terminate federal contracts with Musk’s companies, including SpaceX and Tesla, prompting a 14% drop in Tesla’s stock value.
