Italian club, Napoli has reportedly rejected Victor Osimhen’s €70m fee from Turkish club Galatasaray.
The development was reported by transfer guru Fabrizio Romano, who said the transfer saga on Osimhen has become intense.
According to Fabrizio, Napoli reportedly rejected Osimhen’s €70m fee for failing to meet the release clause target, which stands at a guaranteed €75 million, without add-ons.
He said that the saga unfolded earlier on Friday after Galatasaray submitted their proposal, complete with bank documents to ensure payment security.
However, Napoli president De Laurentiis was said to have rejected the fee and stood firm on €75 million guaranteed fee.
He said: “Understand Napoli have now rejected a new formal proposal sent by Galatasaray today for Victor Osimhen.
“Galatasaray offered €70m today with bank documents attached for payment guarantees. Napoli president De Laurentiis wants €75m guaranteed.”
Pan-Atlantic Kompass reports that the drama surrounding Osimhen’s potential exit from Napoli has been brewing for months.
Since his stellar 2022-23 Serie A season, where he netted 26 goals to clinch the title for Napoli, Europe’s elite clubs like Manchester City, Liverpool, and Paris Saint-Germain, have reportedly been interested in the prolific forward.
However, it appears Napoli’s release clause and Osimhen’s salary demands have been the stumbling block.
