Nigeria’s Ministry of Youth Development has partnered with the Evolution Cup, a Pan-African Tournament, to empower Nigerian youths.
The collaboration aims to unlock pathways for young Nigerians to succeed, aligning with the Ministry’s mandate of building a nation of renewed hope through youth empowerment.
Minister of Youth Development, Ayodele Wisdom Olawande endorsed the 2025 Evolution Cup, emphasizing its alignment with the Ministry’s mandate.
“Young people of Nigeria are the strength, creativity, and future of our nation. We are here to empower youth with opportunities, tools, and support to help them succeed and shape Nigeria’s future,” Olawande said while receiving the Project Strategist, Olawale Olatoye at his office in Abuja.

He continued: “All the decisions we make, each effort we put forth, has the power to shape the lives of millions of young Nigerians. We lead with integrity, dedication, and the commitment to uplift every Nigerian youth. Explore it, engage with the initiatives, and join us in building a brighter future for all.”
The Minister also noted that the Evolution Cup is a platform that symbolizes renewed hope and unity with its commitment to becoming a bridge between the youth’s hopes and the government’s agenda to empowering youth.
According to organisers, Evolution Cup is a tournament that is designed to foster grassroots football development and create opportunities for young African talents to excel.
“The concept of the tournament emerged from the necessity to identify and showcase football talents to a global audience, by providing a platform for young African top talented players to shine. It’s a unique opportunity for them to step into the spotlight, gain exposure, and catch the eye of top recruiters eager to discover the next generation of African football stars.
“Furthermore, the Evolution Cup empowers our youth by providing them with positive outlets and constructive engagement. It steers them away from negative influences and instills values like teamwork, discipline, and resilience. Through the beautiful game, we teach life skills that extend far beyond the field, equipping our young people for future success,” Olatoye said in a statement.
