The verbal attack between the United States and Iran has continued to deepen after the U.S President Donald Trump labeled the country as “Loser of the Middle East.”
This rhetorical escalation comes as Trump’s strategy shifts into a high-pressure phase of military and psychological warfare.
Following a week of relentless joint U.S.-Israeli strikes, Trump took to Truth Social to claim that Tehran has effectively “surrendered” to its neighbors, promising to cease regional hostilities only after suffering “unprecedented devastation” at the hands of the U.S military.
The President’s comments follow a brief diplomatic overture from Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian, who suggested a suspension of attacks on neighboring Gulf nations.
Pezeshkan had said Iran has no intention of invading neighbouring countries, calling for regional cooperation to establish peace and calm.
“I deem it necessary to apologise to neighbouring countries that were attacked,” Pezeshkian said.
“We do not intend to invade neighbouring countries.”
Trump was quick to dismiss the gesture, mocking the Iranian leadership as a “person of no consequence” and insisting that the era of the “Middle East Bully” is over.
Reacting in a post on his Truth Social platform on Saturday, Trump said Iran’s apology was a result of the “relentless U.S and Israeli attack’ on the country.
The U.S president accused Iran of planning to take over the Middle East.
“Iran, which is being beaten to HELL, has apologised and surrendered to its Middle East neighbours,” Trump posted.
“They were looking to take over and rule the Middle East. It is the first time that Iran has ever lost, in thousands of years, to surrounding Middle Eastern Countries.
“They have said, ‘Thank you President Trump’. I have said, ‘You’re welcome!’
“Iran is no longer the bully of the Middle East, they are, instead, ‘The loser of the Middle East’ and will be for many decades until they surrender, or more likely, completely collapse!
Trump added that “Today, Iran will be hit very hard!”
He added that because of Iran’s “bad behaviour”, some areas and groups of people who were not considered for targeting “up until this moment in time” are under serious consideration for “complete destruction and certain death.”
