The United States Embassy has issued a stark warning, declaring that illegal or unauthorized entry into the country now attracts a lifetime U.S. visa ban.

In a public advisory issued on X (formerly Twitter), the embassy made it clear that illegal migrants caught entering the U.S. without proper authorization will now face detention, deportation, and permanent visa ineligibility.

The advisory reads in part: “The United States has increased enforcement of immigration laws and removal of illegal aliens.

“Illegal entry into the United States will lead to detention, deportation, and permanent consequences for future visa eligibility.

“Embarking on a costly and dangerous journey will land you in jail or back in your homeland with a permanent mark on your record.”

The embassy’s advisory also warned immigrants to avoid trusting what it described as unscrupulous agents or attempting the journey through unofficial channels.

According to the advisory, such actions can result in years of legal troubles and a ruined travel history.

Pan-Atlantic Kompass reports that this sweeping policy change comes as the administration of U.S. President Donald Trump intensified efforts to enforce immigration laws and deter undocumented migration.

The warning of a lifetime U.S. visa ban for illegal migrants comes a few days after the Trump administration introduced a new visa rule targeting applicants for F, M, and J category visas.

Effective immediately, this means all international students applying for these visas must make their social media accounts public for consular review.
