A poignant scene captured outside a hospital in London, United Kingdom, has shown the late former President Muhammadu Buhari’s family mourning the demise of their loved one.
In the video, which has gone viral, Zahra Buhari, daughter of Buhari, was seen grieving alongside other family members following the realisation of the demise of the former president at the age of 82.
The moment has drawn widespread attention, reflecting Buhari’s family mourning the personal impact of the development.

Recall that Buhari, who served as Nigeria’s president from 2015 to 2023, passed away on July 14, 2025. He passed away after battling a prolonged illness.
Already, tributes have been pouring in across the globe for the former President.
Tributes from global leaders, including the United States Mission, the Chinese Embassy, and prominent statesmen, have poured in, celebrating Buhari’s contributions to Nigeria’s unity, democracy, and international relations.
President Bola Tinubu, while mourning the demise of his predecessor, directed Vice President Kashim Shettima to travel to the UK to accompany the remains of Buhari to Nigeria.
Tinubu also ordered national flags to fly at half-mast for seven days.
Also, the US Mission in Nigeria praised Buhari’s dedication to public service. They extended condolences to his family and the Nigerian people, emphasizing his disciplined leadership.
“The U.S. Mission in Nigeria extends our deepest condolences to the people of Nigeria on the passing of former President Muhammadu Buhari, a leader whose life was defined by service, discipline, and a commitment to restore integrity to public office.
“His legacy includes his efforts to strengthen Nigeria’s democratic institutions. Our thoughts are with his family, loved ones, and all Nigerians who mourn this loss,” a US Mission in Nigeria post on X read.
Likewise, the Chinese Embassy in Nigeria lauded Buhari’s pivotal role in advancing Nigeria-China relations. The embassy highlighted his contributions to fostering deeper bilateral ties, expressing solidarity with Nigerians in their time of grief.
The Chinese Mission mourned: “We mourn a resolute leader whose unwavering dedication to Nigeria’s unity and progress leaves an enduring legacy. His pivotal contributions to advancing China-Nigeria relations will forever remain etched in our shared history. Our thoughts are with his family and the Nigerian people.”
Buhari is also set to be committed to Mother Earth in Daura, Kastina State on Monday, July 14, 2025, in line with the Islamic rites.
