Boxing fans have begun to expressed their excitement following the announcement of a Tyson vs Mayweather exhibition match in spring 2026.

The Tyson vs Mayweather fight will be put on by CSI Sports/Fight Sports; however, details regarding the date, location, broadcasters, and rules are yet to be announced.

Pan-Atlantic Kompass reports that the Tyson vs Mayweather exhibition marks the first time these two boxing icons will face off in the ring.

It was also gathered that the formal winners will not be declared after the match, which will last for eight rounds. It also means the results will not count towards either fighter’s career record.

Tyson, 59, built a 50-7 record with 44 knockouts in a career in which he established himself as the most feared heavyweight of his generation.

Mike Tyson, 59, returned from a 20-year retirement in November 2024, losing to Jake Paul by unanimous decision.

Meanwhile, Floyd Mayweather, 48, last fought professionally in 2017, securing a TKO victory over Conor McGregor, and has since competed in exhibitions, including one against John Gotti III in August 2024.

Mayweather has an undefeated 50-0 record with 27 knockouts, having won world titles across five weight classes.

Speaking on the fight, Tyson said: “This fight is something neither the world nor I ever thought would or could happen. However, boxing has entered a new era of the unpredictable and this fight is as unpredictable as it gets.”

Also, Mayweather, reacting to the exhibition match, said: “You already know that if I am going to do something, it’s going to be big and it’s going to be legendary.

“I’m the best in the business of boxing. This exhibition will give the fans what they want.”
